Make Money Online Mavericks - My Most Wanted List
If you’re serious about not making money online, there are certain websites which can create a lot of problems for you if you get hooked on them. These are usually run by people I like to call “make money online mavericks” because that’s what they are. They have a reckless disregard for people like us that have worked hard and spent a lot of time making no money online.
Now these sites need an extra warning. I’ve seen people visit them and get totally brainwashed into thinking it’s easy to start making money, and what’s more, they even come away with practical ideas to generate cash. I really think they should be made to display some kind of health warning or something.
These mavericks are typically people that don’t bother following the crowd, they do crazy things like testing and tracking (which let me tell you, is stuff you don’t want to be messing about with), they work in a disciplined way, usually following some sort of plan. And of course, they get results. You’re probably getting the picture here… these are people that do pretty much everything you shouldn’t do if you want to stay poor. Yeah, it’s that bad. All Problems Start With Keyword Research
I’m in two minds whether mention this really. Yeah, it’s that dangerous. If you ignore the warnings in the last post and choose a topic for your website that other people will be interested in, then really you deserve all you get. If, even worse, you pick a topic that has the potential to earn you some money, well, just don’t come crying to me when you get people coming to your site and buying stuff. I told you so.
But seriously, to help prevent that kind of stuff happening, there are a few things we should stay well clear of. I’m going to share them here only so you can avoid them. This is not an invitation to start messing about with them, they are dangerous.
Ok, when you’re picking a topic for your website, you need to watch out for insidious tools such as http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com. Now, I don’t really know what these guys had in mind when they built this, but one thing’s for sure, it’s too dangerous to be just thrown out there for anyone to stumble across. I mean, this thing can tell you how many people are searching for a keyword phrase. I’m not kidding. All you need to do is type your keyword phrase in the box, click the “Hit Me” button and up comes a list of the top 100 related search phrases, and the number of searches each phrase has had. Don’t Tell Me How to Make Money Online
Are you as fed up as me of being told by the gurus about how to make money online? Right. It’s always the same thing: blog about something you’re familiar with, interested in, passionate about, good at, yada yada. Well, I’ve been playing them at their own game. Without wanting to boast, I’ve got pretty darn good at making no money online, so what I thought I’d do is start a blog about that. Good thinking, eh?
You might ask why. Consider this: everyone and their dog has a blog about how to make money online, but how many blogs are there about making no money online, hmmm? That’s right. None. A stroke of genius, if I say so myself.
Yes, I employed one of the golden rules of making no money online - pick something to blog about that no-one is searching for. Sneaky, but it’s true. Just think about it for a second. If no-one is searching for the kind of stuff that you’re blogging about, then it’s never going to appear in the search engine listings is it? Stuff that appears in the search engine listings is always related to the words people search for. It makes sense, in a funny sort of way, but the important fact is that you’re never going to get any traffic (i.e. visitors) no matter how many links you have, and if you never get any visitors you’re never going to make any money.
